Darkness rising, dark lords rule

Not with orcs and ringwraiths

Or storm troopers and light-sabres

But with lies and hatred, fear of the other.

 

Lies are the weapons of a dark lord

Stronger than swords, more deadly than bombs.

Hate the outsider, blame the incomer

Spread fear of those who don’t look like us.

 

Don’t need magic rings, your power will rise

And thousands will flock to your call.

Truth is fake news, just sweep it aside

Build walls and ghettos, gas ovens and graves.

 

How to bring down a dark lord? It’s hard.

No golden ring flung into the Crack of Doom

Nor evil Emperor tossed to the Death Star’s heart.

But truth, love, unity are the keys.

 

Truth at all times to fight the dark lord’s lies

Love for those others, different from ourselves

Unity to stand together in the light.

No magic sword or Jedi training; these alone.
